Clare Spurway BSc (Hons) Ost.DO is the Osteopath working at The Natural Clinic, and is registered with The General Osteopathic Council. Clare enjoys integrating different techniques such as structural (involving gentle manipulations), visceral and cranial osteopathy. Treatment is adjusted according to the individual patient, and can suit anyone from the elderly to young children, pregnant women and babies. Clare considers all patients biomechanically and treats to minimalize the risk of injury. Clare has also become increasingly interested in how stress and trauma can harbour in the body.
Osteopathy is a modern form of healthcare, involving highly skilled diagnosis and treatment, supported by practical lifestyle advice to enable patients to maintain optimum physical health. It recognises the importance of the link between the structure of the human body and the way it functions. Clare focuses on the body’s skeleton and joint function along with the underlying muscles, soft tissue, internal organs and their nerve and blood supplies. Utilising an initial movement assessment and a highly developed sense of touch, Clare identifies problem areas of the body. Using gentle stretching and mobilising techniques as well as manipulating joints, Clare works with the body to create the perfect conditions to facilitate the healing process.
